My name is Shar and I'm the proud owner of Retro Daisy!
At just seven years of age, I fell in love with Marilyn Monroe. There were several reasons for this, one reason in particular was of course her immediate visual beauty and the stunning clothes she wore in her films, such as Gentlemen Prefer Blondes and Niagara. As the years passed my love for Marilyn went beyond her image and I have since researched her life in great depth, visiting her homes and haunts in New York and Los Angles. I've also had the overwhelming pleasure of being close to her gorgeous costumes and personal wardrobe.
The 1940's, 50's and early 60's were the epitome of glamour, clothes were cut to flatter and enhance, to make the most of the female form, with the hour glass shape a leading influence in the design of women's fashion. This was the era of the Bombshell and the Pin-Up!
In the modern world, life can be hectic, it's easy to pull on a pair of leggings and a baggy top. Whilst there is absolutely nothing wrong with that, there are times we simply yearn for more. Vintage and reproduction vintage clothing satisfy that craving within me and without a fail, always makes me feel great! Which is why I wanted to open Retro Daisy! I think every woman should feel confident regardless of her age or her size, it's a subject very close to my heart, having battled with weight and self image issues for several years!
